Business Administration Internship 2024-25

NetWatch are excited to advertise our next internship placement due to commence in September 2024. This placement is open to university undergraduates looking to complete a yearlong placement prior to commencing their third year of studies. Having successfully run our internship scheme for the last seven years, this fantastic opportunity is perfect for someone looking to gain experience in business administration and wanting to add invaluable work experience to their CV for future job prospects.

We have a supportive learning environment where you will be surrounded by experienced staff to help you learn and develop during your internship. We often have previous interns re-joining the company part-time during their final year and full-time thereafter and have multiple former interns in senior positions within the company. Placement Details

Role: Business Administration Internship

Location: based in Birmingham in close proximity to the city centre.  Our address is: Alpha Tower, Suffolk Street, Queensway, Birmingham, B1 1TT

Length of Placement: 12 months

Working Hours: 35 flexi hours per week Mon-Fri

Start Date: Monday 2nd September 2024

End Date: Friday 29th August 2025

Job Description

  • Key member of the administration team with responsibility for booking-in instructions using our case management system and resolving queries from clients and colleagues.
  • Conducting quality assurance checks to ensure data is inputted correctly.
  • Using the phone and email to liaise with clients and external organisations, to request/chase documentation and resolve any queries.
  • Issuing cheques and chasing payments to and from external organisations.
  • Assisting our analyst team with writing basic reports and letters in relation to ongoing or completed investigations.
  • Exposure to different areas of our business, rotating across different administration positions depending upon ongoing business need at the time.
  • Ability to work on an independent project of your topic choice which will benefit the company and provide you with a take-away from your placement.
  • Supporting colleagues and the wider administration team whenever necessary.

Job Description

  • Analysing and compiling intelligence into comprehensive written reports in a target driven environment.
  • Utilising a variety of databases, public records and intelligence tools & techniques to obtain information on subjects and attribute social networking accounts to them.
  • Researching social networking sites to build up a lifestyle analysis of individuals suspected of being involved in fraudulent claims.
  • Online investigations to establish the movements and whereabouts of individuals so that surveillance can be utilised to best effect.
  • Identifying and locating individuals who may have witnessed any road or personal injury accidents so that the client can obtain statements to assist when deciding upon liability and reserve.
  • Investigations into online networks with the aim of establishing any links between parties which could suggest fraud.

We are a growing open-source investigation company based in the heart of Birmingham looking for an enthusiastic Administration Assistant to join our team in operating our exciting new service.

The Role

In October 2020 NetWatch launched an exciting new service which has proven highly successful and has grown at an exponential rate. As a result, we are looking for an Administration Assistant to join our company to help with the day-to-day running of this service as well as providing effective administrative support to the wider company. You will be provided with full training and ongoing support to help you settle into this role.

Opportunity to Progress: Several of our previous administration staff have progressed into analyst roles with the company, therefore this role may also interest those who are looking to get their foot on the ladder in the world of open-source intelligence.

IMPORTANT: Please note that the first 6 months of this role is office-based and will require the successful candidate to be within a commutable distance to Birmingham City Centre. There may then be remote working opportunities later.
